How to Clean an Eyeglass Cloth

If you wear glasses then I guess that you can make the difference between clean and stained glasses, do not you?! Well, to avoid this inconvenience, people invented the eyeglass cloth. However, have you ever considered the idea that this piece of cloth needs cleaning, too?!

Most eyeglass cloths are made of microfibre fabric that does not allow the sensitive glass surface to scratch. Moreover, the cleaning cloths themselves are easy to clean. And if you take the cares, they deserve, you will be able to use them for a very long period. So, here London cleaners will tell you how to maintain your eyeglass cloths.

  1. Make a solution of 2-3 drops of some dish-washing liquid and warm water. Then use the soapy water to wash the cloth. If you do not have any dish-washing liquid you can use a mild liquid soap as a replacement. It is important to pay special attention to the water you are using for the washing. Warm is the best option, because it will make the cloth absorb the cleaning solution easier.

  2. Then rinse the eyeglass cloth with clear water to remove any soap from it. You have to make sure that there is no remaining soap in the fibres of the cloth. Otherwise the next time you use it to clean your glasses the remaining soap could scratch the glass surface.

  3. If you prefer washing the cloth in the washing machine, put the cloth inside the machine and run it on a gentle cycle. Avoid using any fabric softener, because the chemicals it contains can damage the microfibre fabric. At the end, London cleaning professionals recommend putting the cloth in the dryer on the lowest setting. You can let it air dry, as well.
