How to Get Rid of Carpet Stains with Club Soda

Most carpet stains, including fruit juice and red wine spills, can be effectively removed with club soda. This natural product is safe to all carpets and comes much cheaper than most commercial stain removers. However, club soda works best on fresh stains, so make sure to treat the stain as soon as possible in order to ensure that your carpet will be returned to its previous condition without the need of using expensive cleaning products.

Instructions

  1. Get a clean, white towel and remove as much of the stain as possible. Make sure to blot the stain instead of rubbing it in order to prevent making much worse mess than it was.
  2. Pour club soda directly over the stained area as watching not to oversaturate the carpet, and let the club soda sit on the problematic area for several minutes.
  3. Use another white towel to blot up the club soda along with the stain. Dab at the affected area with the towel by adding more club soda if needed until the stains is completely removed.
  4. Press a dry, white cloth firmly against the carpet to absorb any moisture left by the club soda, as advised by cleaners Regents park.
  5. Rinse the area with lukewarm water, blot the moisture and leave the carpet to air dry.

Keeping club soda on hand is always useful when you need to treat some carpet stain immediately but you haven't the right stain remover at home. However, the club soda won't be able to remove stains caused by grease or ink. For such stains, consider consulting cleaners Richmond.
