Get Rid of the Mildew

Mildew is a polyp, which grows in dark, warm and wet places. This makes it very common in bathrooms and other places where the conditions are suitable for it to live.

Mildew can be not only unpleasant to look at, but it also has very strong odor which makes the room where it grows a very nasty place to be.
However, if you succeed to get rid of the mildew you will find that it left behind itself a very ugly and extremely hard to clean stain.

So how to do the carpet cleaning if you have a mildew or a mildew spot to deal with?

  • The first thing is to try to vacuum as much of the mould as possible.
When you finish with this procedure you have to clean the vacuum cleaner's bag or to replace it with a new one. It is better, if you perform this somewhere outside.
Furthermore, if your vacuum cleaner has a canister, which can be washed you certainly have to do it. You can use a hot water and a bleach for the purpose, because this way you will be sure that you have killed all the mildew, which remained there.
  • The second cleaning step is to mix a cleaning solution of two cups of water and a tablespoon of dish-washing liquid.
  • Place the mix in a deep dish and mix it well with a mixer till the moment you get a foam.
  • Take a clean cloth and blot the mildew. You will have to repeat this action until the stain is fully removed.
  • Now, when the spot is cleaned you will have to take care for the cleaning solution left on the carpet. You can use a clean cloth and cool water for this purpose.
  • The final step of the cleaning is the drying. It is actually very important because if it is not done properly the carpet can catch mould again and then you will have to repeat the whole cleaning procedure.

All these cleaning techniques are usually in big help, but there is however a small chance for your carpet to stay stained. For such cases you better call a carpet cleaning London company for the job. They will get you rid of the stain very fast and professionally.
